Crazy not to right?

At lunch today I find an old sears and robuck three speed, nice fenders. Everything looked to be in fine working order, and the rims had been shinned up a bit.
Even the seat was without a tare.

$22, I would be crazy not to go pick it up after work today right?

I'd grab it. Especially if it was from the '70's as the were Austrian built and compared to the same level of offerings today, far superior.

You would be crazy not to tell your boss you're feeling ill and you need to go home right away so you can get better.
Just remember to pick up your 3-speed medicine on the way home.

You're crazy to ask the advice of the certified crazies here. The forum is not called Crazy & Vintage for nothing.

You're crazy not to have bought it right then. Even crazier to think it will still be there later at 22 dollars.

It was there when I got back!

I took it for a ride when I got it home Friday night (very short) and a little longer on this afternoon. Rides great why do you need more than three speeds anyway!

Monday I start looking for tires, I am going to try and take a couple of pics Monday at work. Our digital camera at home is broke.

Looked it over pretty good, could not find a serial number of any kind, any clue as to where I should look? I am thinking 70's...

Bikes: one of each

I'd have held out for a JC Higgins or a Free Spirit.

LOL...I'm pretty sure it is a Free Spirit

When I was a kid there was this old lady who rode one by the house every day. Recently I was talking to my mom and told her she should get one of those adult trikes like that old lady. And she tells me...the old lady still rides by every day!!! No way! That old lady would have to be 100 now

Then again, when I was a kid that "old" lady could have been 45 so I guess she could be 75 now and still riding

It would appear that a man’s options on a 26 x 1 3/8 bicycle tire are rather limited in the local area. I did locate a set they where cheap enough, but they sure look it!

I plan on putting them on tonight, along with a new set of grips.

Still working on the picture situation.

The LBS said he would have racks in to fit it later this week, the shop looked pretty busy, I guess it is getting that time of year…
