Here's a better photo of a Somec BB. It looks pretty similar, as does the triangual cut-out above it.

Have a look at this page and compare the photos to your bike.

Where is the serial number stamped on your bike, and is it similar to the above?

Boy, it's getting salty in Classic and Vintage tonite.
I already spent too much time on this but here;

Best I could find - nobody with a Somec (and there's a good few) seems to take pic's of the bottom bracket cutouts. Everything else, but no BB's.
edit - Abacus beat me to it and produced a BB shot.

Are you kidding? Planes were around long before that! That whole Kitty Hawk thing was filmed by Hollywood producers. It's a conspiracy!

Looks like a $300 bike to me, if it had original paint, but since it doesn't, I would mark it down from that point. So then its value is really about the components.

Whether I need money or not (and I don't), if someone wants to offer me $3000 for a $300 bike, I take the money and say thank you. I am sure I can find other things to be insemental about.

Hell, I'd sell my Cinelli for $300 - and it has never been insementated :)

I want to say thanks for all of your time spent on this...once i get the whole thing restored, i will be posting a bunch of pictures....the somec has all of the same cutouts...one exception is that the forks are chromed and the chain side lower tube is partially chromed....thanks to all
