Paint Checking

Greetings CV folks,

This is what is happening to my '88 CDI. All the lugs and dropouts have been affected as well as the proximal portion of the fork. The main tubes look fine.

My first thoughts were either an inadvertent extreme temperature change, or just a lower quality finish that will degrade over time.
