Question about carbide lamp

I've heard they can generate quite an explosion, but I'm not sure how to rig it properly. Anybody done this before? Give me a how-to?

Thanks.

Carter, you don't have to sell us on it.

I know, but it's been two weeks since we set anything off. I've heard these can make a boom loud enough to wake Schultz up when he's home in Dusseldorf.

But we made Klink revoke his 3-day pass, remember?

Yeah - pair it up with a CF bike, and watch out.

I've used a carbide lamp on my construction helmet while exploring caves. You simply set the drip-rate for the water to go slowly for a small flame & light* - or faster if you want a blowtorch that will really anger the bats as you singe them.

Don't hurt bats. Bats are cool.

* all you really will need.

I used one as my bike light for commuting many years ago. One issue, at least with mine, was that the drip rate tended to increase from the vibration of rough pavement. Never experienced any explosions, but I did sometimes have quite a blowtorch after hitting a few potholes.

I'm ok.

Do you remember those old land mines we stashed last August?

Yes, the ones under Barracks 5? What about them?

Just wrap it in carbon fiber and crash the bike. The lamp should explode immediately. If it does not, put some Cervelo and Zipp stickers on it and try again.
