400$ seems to be today's going rate for UO-8s in Canada... I guess that's people just realized it was the "only one below the px-10"
I prefer my PSV10 I got for a third of that price ;)

Nice classic road bike in excellent condition.

This model is only one below the px-10. All original. Bike is in excellent. Just a few chips on one side of the top tube which I touched up. Bearings are very smooth. All new cables and housing. Simplex components.

Tuned-up and ready to go.

Sorry pump not included (very rare and hard to find).

They did a good job but cripes, that's nearly 3x what I just listed a Huffy for, and I was worried I was out of line. I was almost wondering if I was going to see myself here. And I know my price is high, but I expect bargaining to be taking place.

If your bike is as nice in person as it appears in the pics, you are probably priced OK. CL Tip: Use bigger pics in your ad. The standard pics don't allow for much detail to show,

Schwinn Old Race Bike Hand Made Chicago 4-1974 RARE - $1400 (Hinsdale )

http://images.craigslist.org/3na3pf3...ba8edb146a.jpg

RARE old race bike I had as a kid, serial #DK-571214, I took it apart over 40 years ago, sand blasted it and repainted. I do have all the parts, some of which are a little rusty, but there. The wheels, rims are nice and straight. I for get the model, but look close at the frame where the set tube meets the hub, is curve and changes the center of balance and the length of the bike, hub to hub. This is a RARE find, I bought this brand new, from a bike shop in Hinsdale, Illinois $1400.00 if you have any questions, feel free to call me at xxx xxx xxxx Thank You Doug

It IS rare: a race bike with a kickstand...
And a sheet-metal pieplate.

douchebagonwhlz 08-10-10 10:45 PM

Those portland mixtes are fantastic. I just had the realization that they can be done up with other than drop bars and become mega hip town bikes with go fast skinny tires.

And an Ashtabula crank... and stamped dropouts... and a forged fork... must have been racing snails.

It is a 1974 Sprint. Schwinn didn't make many of these. So, I guess, technically, that makes it rare. But it does not make it valuable. He didn't pay $1400 for it in 1974 and it isn't worth anything near that today.

Anyone want to patch 58 old tubes. Last year this guy made the mistake of bragging that he had never had a flat.

58 700x19-26 Presta inner tubes, with holes - $20 (SW Austin)

These are mostly short-valve inner tubes that I used in my 700x23 and 700x25 road tires. All Presta valves. There are maybe a couple of thin, lightweight ones, and one that might be more of a 26-28mm tube.
These have been culled for age, broken valves, splits, multiple holes, and patches. No guarantee I caught all the duds in there, or that each and every one will take a patch.
I just don't have the time and/or inclination to mess with these.
There are quite a few Continentals, some Specialized, and so forth, so both "high end" and "cheapies" are represented.

I also have a smaller pile of similar inner tubes that have been patched once, mostly, that can go out the door with these if a buyer wants them.
924-6632, leave a VM please if for some reason I don't pick up.

That thing's been listed on here, and eBay so many times. I don't think he wants to sell it. He just wants to catch a sucker.

I think I've found one - how about this - not a lot of money, but it looks like even less of a bike, LOL.

Obviously you've never done any metalworking - a good anvil is a valuable tool, though it's hard to tell the size from the picture.

liquefied 08-13-10 08:45 PM

I think he posted it for the life jacket part.

Well, it appears to be fashioned from a section of railroad rail. I'd estimate the widest dimension of the working surface to be between 2 and 3 inches.
