Well, it is, after all, only a "mock up". No matter what the seller calls it, still seems like he was trying to make a silk purse out of a sow's ear. Someone will buy it, then next time it comes up for sale, the odds are the new seller will omit the "mock up" descriptor and someone will get suckered into thinking he's buying a real De Rosa.

What? You mean you can't rehydrate that with proofide like a Brooks saddle? Not even a soak in oil? I'm sure something's gotta work.

Well, maybe you could install a zipper to facilitate installation.

Oh, and you were the one who started a thread looking for a cheap road bike in Portland? There you have it

What more can you ask for?

Something is a little crooked with the rear tire... may or may not be anything, but it is missing a spoke right behind the brake pads on the side view.

How about this one.

2005 Cannondale R700 56cm - $200/obo (Eugene, OR)

I have a 2005 Cannondale R700 for sale. As is, needs wheel set, 56cm. I've had it since May 2015, needs a rider and wheels. $200/obo. Not registered or reported stolen.
I think it is actually an R700, but how do people actually date these bikes?

Those Chainstays definitely are not a 2005.

I'd put it no newer than a 1999 R700.

If presentation is everything in an ad, I'll have to give this guy a minus-ten score. I think it has most of the parts there. The chain looks a bit rusty.

I have a Scott 60 mountain bike worth a couple grand (world)

no its not stolen I bought it brand new just never ride it anymore best thing is Featherlite down for like partial trades for cash make me a reasonable offer and we'll go from there

Wow, only $1150 for a fake carbon Colnago frame/fork. What a deal

Colnago C59 Frame Set | eBay

Colnago in the title, Colnago at the beginning of the write-up...and conveniently, as the very last bit of info given: "Note this is a replica frame".

Fake, you mean. Call a spade a spade

Always gotta wonder whether or not it is when someone makes sure in his ad to let everyone know it's not stolen

C'mon - why is the dude storing it in the trunk of his car? Hmmm...

This one strikes me as strange and this downtube?? Looks crushed or better said, maybe collapsed! But Free Spirit's attempt at making an Aerodynamic bike? Free Spirit Aero... And bolt on wheels?

57cm Freespirit Aero Single Speed Road Bike

Hey, for sale here is a medium size Free Spirit Aero Road bike. It will fit riders in the 5'8" range best. It has been converted from a 12 speed to a single speed for reduced weight and improved reliability. The way it sits, it is pretty light. The frame tubing has been ovalized on the down tube and seat tube for aerodynamics. This was free spirit's attempt to copy what high end manufacturers were doing in the mid 80's with attention on aerodynamics. Celeste bar tape is in good shape. Cables are new. Brakes work well, and wheels are true. Tires are in excellent condition. Freshly tuned up. Needs nothing, ready to ride.

No, this downtube looks crushed, bent in or collapsed because of aging. To me, it doesn't look workable. Am I missing something? Maybe someone has seen one of these.

'91 GF Procaliber was my first good mountain bike.Bought it new from A bike shop in San Francisco.
What I remember most was it had Suntour components that were junk.Broke the rear derailleur and A few other parts just riding on the streets and the hills up around San Carlos. Was not to much into bicycles in them days, wish I still had the frame an fork though.I would let mine go for around 2K.

Yes, this is the same way the Aerowind was done, only cruder. Another triumph of marketing over reality.
