I need a bike. Badly. I've been laid off for 6 months, with no luck finding work. Medical bills have stacked up, as well as mortgage payments and so on. I recently had to sell my vehicle, just to make ends meet. I am in DIRE need of a bike to get me to and from. While I prefer a track bike, or fixed gear commuter bike, any type of road bike will suffice at this point in time.

If anyone out there is interested in donating a size 56 or 57cm frame (preferably a track frame, or complete track bike), I can offer free, 24/7 access to a private 400 meter velodrome for one whole year, which will be ready to ride in July 2009, when construction is complete. Velo is located indoors on secure, private property in the Wisconsin Dells, just a few hours from Chicago. If you're interested in making a trade, and are a bicycle industry type business, we can even discuss free advertising and promotion for a pre-determined amount of time at the velodrome.

Inquire within.

Location: Wisconsin Dells

Maybe someone down in the fixed gear section would know.
I checked the Madison WI CL and there was no similar ad, so why would someone down on their luck and having hard tiimes post in a CL group in Chicago and not in the Madison one. Unless their location is bogus? Or the whole story is bogus. Maybe not, but maybe so, proceed with caution.

The Dells is a strange place. It's possible.
I always liked the Dells.

I inherited some property not too far away from there, so I subscribed to the local paper, so I'm sure I would have heard of something

I always wanted my own indoor velodrome track. If I was rich enough, I don't think I would build it in the dells.

I drove through there last summer. Looked interesting in a tourist trappy sort of way. Actually, the whole drive from Madison to Minneapolis was one of my favorite routes ever.
