Arius Saddle?
I've got this really old saddle my dad gave me that I'm thinking of using for a trip my wife and I are starting in about a month. The only thing I can tell besides it being leather is it says "ARIUS" and I think "SPECIAL", and on the underside it says "Made in Spain". Its made of leather, Anyone know anything about these saddles? I was thinking about going with a Brooks model, but I wasn't sure if I have enough time to break in a new one.

If you have a month you *might* be able to break in a Brooks given a really concerted effort. But keep this Arius as back-up, assuming it fits you.

Yeah that looks kinda close, its definitely the same logo, though the one i have isnt black (not that that matters), though maybe it used to be. Know anything about it? Good saddle for touring, assuming its comfortable?

Bikes: Several, mostly not name brands.
Arius made a lot of different saddles, and produced saddles for Zeus back when they were still in business. I have a few of them here; one is a plain plastic shell much like the Unicanitor track saddle, one (Zeus branded)is a plastic shell with a leather cover but no padding, and another has a leather cover with firm padding like many of the Selle Italia saddles.
