Sweaty ebay win! Phew

Weird title I know! I'm still high on adrenaline after a bid war on this bike!

If you may have read in a previous post I sold my girlfriend's Raleigh Sprite because she wanted a quicker roadbike to keep up with other riders when on trails and also to practice sprinting around. I was eyeing this Nishiki since the minute it was posted and knew I had to make a bid. Thankfully I persevered and won! Looks road ready. Just need to do a standard maintenance and I think she'll be on the road within no time .

PS: T-Mar serial # coming your way for the database!

You did well. Great frame, great bike, great price.
You will really like that bike. If you let her ride it, she will, too.

I hope by trails, you mean paved trailes. That's no off-roader.

Thanks! Way too small for me, so it's all for her (although I am a bit envious ). Yup paved trails! We have a really nice 13ish mile trail that goes from San Jose to Los Gatos which she loves to ride on.

Bikes: Waterford 953 RS-22, several Paramounts

Nice catch. I'm not sure why the seller thinks a 48cm c-t frame is "medium" size, though...

+1 Looks like a 19 inch frame to me, suited for a short rider.

I sold my Prestige earlier this year, it is a nice bike.

I have a frame like that awaiting build someday -- black though, and 58 cm. It's beautifully constructed IMO. Jeez, I thought that six "Nishiki" logos on the frame was overdoing it (2 on seat tube, 2 on down tube, and on each fork blade) but you've got two pair more -- pedal straps and water bottle! I think that they had a little lack of imagination problem in the graphics department. The Optima (-like?) typeface is elegant, but it's not the only way to "decorate" a bike.

Shucks, that's nothing. My Fuji Gran Tourer had "Fuji" on the seat tube, cranks, bottom bracket, front/rear derailleur, saddle, head badge, and handlebars, for a grand total of 10 "Fujis", and I'm not certain I've remembered or discovered them all.

Nice Nishiki, good buy, hope the gf loves it. Not to hijack this thread further, I've found it helps keep my wife onboard if she thinks her bike is nicer than mine and something a little special overall, something definitely doable with that Nishiki.

Whoa! NICE score! Looks like a really decent bike, and for a reasonable price.

Haha Robatsu so very true. However, from what I can tell I won't have to try hard to convince her that her bike is nicer than mine. She won't be too interested in all the details like tubing and what not, but I know she'll appreciate the ride.

Lol, your lucky, I almost put in a $300 bid on that this morning. I only passed 'cus it looked like there could be a good deal of toe overlap on there.

Phew! Lucky me indeed since my high bid was around the $270 mark. I bid in the last 10 seconds and someone bumped the bid up to $221! Still a great price especially for my area so I can't complain.

I'm glad someone from here got it, though. I really like the bronze anodized stuff. It looks really nice, almost NOS condition. I hope the lady enjoys it, and by extension, so do you!

I am a big Nishiki fan, and that one is very nice indeed! I just reconditioned and sold my 85 International, and it was not nearly as nice as yours.

In a bike that size, you probably want toe overlap. Otherwise, you get a lousy design with poor handling, ATMO.
