What to do - go for a ride

I live at the end of a 1/2 mile gravel road, so today for my lunch break I loaded up the Gitane and drove down to the pavement to get a ride in. I got out, unloaded the Gitane and heard a nasty hissing sound. A little investigation revealed a big 'ol rock had gone through the tread in the week old rear tire of my van.

What to do? I looked at the car a couple of times then looked at the Gitane with the brand new tires (French ones, of course). Screw it - I jumped on the bike, got the ride in and then walked home leaving the car at the end of the driveway.

Gotta say it felt good. Here's the revamped Gitane with vintage Scott bars.

Bikes: 62 Falcon, 58 Raleigh Lenton Gran Prix, 74 Raleigh Pro, 75 Raleigh Int, 75 Raleigh Comp, 76 Colnago Super, 75 Crescent, 80 Peugeot PX10, plus others too numerous to mention!

Ouch! I hate when that happens (flats in new tires), bikes or cars!

I always drive with a some classic steel in the van. Wherever I am and the mood hits I go for a ride.
