i also pulled wheel down in the drops about half way.

im still having this problem of it slipping.
it only does it in the smallest cog, everything is ok until i get to that one.
it runs fine on all the other ones up until that one. and also i was giving it a closer inspection and the teeth are not broken. maybe a new chain...

Gene is an ancient 20, and rides a bike made before he was born; one he pretty much rebuilt (wheels from scratch) whilst still a teen.
He's pretty cool, or I'd have already stolen his Panasonic. If he didn't have limited space, he'd have a bike dungeon like roccobike's.

question when i go to the bike shop should i ask for a 6 or 7 speed chain?

does it make a difference.

Could be a stiff chain link. Have you checked for that?

Any 8 speed chain should work. They may be marketed as 6/7/8 speed compatible, or simply 8 speed. Just don't get a 9 or 10 speed chain, or a 1/8" singlespeed chain.

Also, does that derailleur have a B-screw adjustment? I don't think so, but worth a look. If the tension of the upper pivot spring is weak, or the B-screw is too loose (assuming it has one), it could cause skipping on the small cog.

also it doesnt have the "b" adjustment.

The chain is next. I prefer using 7 speed on my 5 and 6 speed freewheels, but there's little difference from a six.

so i went to a different bike shop here in mesa called Pat's Cyclery. i think i found a new home by the way. the guy there tottally knew what kind of freewheel it was. and how to take it apart.

well i went in with the bike to get the chain changed and he did a once over the rear wheel and saw that when spun the whole freewheel was bent and would wobble. he had the parts to fix it a hub and new freewheel. told me its about 40 to 50 bucks to get it going.

im not to sure if i even want to since the frame isnt the most high quality. i paid 40 bucks for it and this would make it about 100 altogether. he also suggested selling the "600" stuff im not sure what im going to do any suggestions?

"Bent freehub"?? There is some play to the freehub body (and freewheels) but not so much that it will affect normal shifting operation.

I've seen a HG cassette wobble badly once, but that was caused by missing spacer shims.

I can't see any reason to swap out the 600 drivetrain unless it's damaged or very worn.

You sound nearby to me. PM me if you wish to stop by for a 2nd opinion. I have two Uniglide rear wheels (105 and 600) so I have some experience with their assemblage.
I can also install a new chain for you while we're at it. You can pick up a compatible 6-8 spd chain at Walmart for $8.
