I don't think he's riding it, I think its just falling upon him.

I once read through many of them assuming that I would eventually find something funny, and discovered it is mostly a series of vague reminders of marginally humorous inside jokes from the commuting and road forums at Bikeforums.net.

I do applaud the effort of a cycling centric strip though, and I do occasionally read it just in case I start to get it.

It's much more beautiful than that. Its art, really. In the Schultz tradition. I think the humor is direct from the bike shop.

I have to admit I do find more to it from a philosophical ir artistic perspective... In fact, I looked at some more this morning, and although I don't always agree that the perspective is worth the effort, there is a viewpoint that comes through... Humor? not really...

I have always had a mental block against comic strips that aren't funny... I never could get into super hero comic books, and anything on the comic pages of the newspaper that isn't funny just gets passed by. But I guess now that I am 50, I should get over it.

Many comic strips that were probably worth reading just never got my time... because they weren't funny.

Wot?!? No Mary Worth. Funky Winkerbean. Marmaduke. Cathy. :innocent: I don't like those much either.

But Prince Valiant. That's a weekly requirement.

I get a chuckle out of Yehuda. I never find myself rolling on the floor, but it is always a bit amusing.

frazz occasionally is bicycle related occasionally, and frequently funny.

It takes all kinds... There are things that make me howl out loud, and other people just look at me wondering why I find it so funny...

My ex-wife thought I was plain nuts for two specific scenes I can remember...

One of them was on the Brady Bunch, when we were watching a rerun, many years after the original run, there was a show where one or more of the kids was doing a play about indians, and Mr. Brady did some lame imitation like "Ug" and Mrs. Brady said something like, "That is corny!" I couldn't stop laughing for 5 minutes after that line... the thought of that line being uttered in a serious moment in one of the corniest shows ever on television just had me in stitches.

The other was a scene in Ruthless people... The scene in the street with Ken Kessler in a clown suit, and Earl Mott trying to steal the ransom money with the hundreds of police looking on... From IMDB:

Earl Mott: Did you just shoot at me?
Ken Kessler: No, there's police men everywhere.
Earl Mott: Do you think that I look that stupid?
Ken Kessler: Yes, you do!

There are additional lines where Earl Mott asks, "Where is your gun?" and Ken Kessler replies with something like "You got me!!! I don't have a gun."

I actually laughed so hard the first few times I watched this part of the movie that tears came to my eyes. My family enjoyed watching my response to the movie more than the movie itself. I laughed whenever I thought of this scene over the course of the next few days.

But, Yehuda Moon, I have read many, and have cracked a smile maybe a dozen times...

Dig deep in the memory banks...how many remember Competitive Cycling? I recall one report, written by Chuck U. Farley that had me rolling. Don't remember anything other than the "author" and the laughter.

Then there was the "German Touring" report. Lines like..."eine Varsity? Bist du kidding mer, Hans?" and "Ist das nicht eine Eisentraut?"

Yeah, I know...you had to be there.

What, no chuckle when Yehuda says "Can you believe this is happening?" "Nope. But its going in my screenplay."? Come ooon.

not from me on that one. Although I do find plenty of humor in Yehuda Moon comics.

I'm just glad he stopped with the dead guy on the ghost bike storyline... it was getting creepy, and wasn't funny.

I found the whole storyline with Yehuda sticking ball bearings in the cars valve caps hilarious and suggestively enlightening :innocent:

But that was Fred, not Yehuda.

well call me corrected. Thats the only funny thing I can attribute to fred though The rest was kinda depressing.

I saw my first real ghost bike the other day too...it looked like it was the one that was involved in the crash too...rattlecanned white. :(

I always thought of Fred as a bit of sober reality chucked in. Depressing, maybe, though I've seen it applied in may other comics as well.

As for Fred, I rather enjoy his character at times - especially his obsession with the Lauterbrunnental Leaflet. This one has to take the cake:

I get plenty of laughs just from some of the things you all say on here. You guys can be absolutely hilarious.
I love to read Yehuda Moon, though. It made me so sad when Rick stopped, though I'm incredibly happy he's starting up again.
Some of the comics I read some of you would likely find offensive. I have an entire folder in my bookmarks dedicated to them. PvP, XKCD, Order Of The Stick (This, Questionable Content, and Yehuda Moon are my favoirtes), FoxTrot, Ctrl+Alt+Del, Thinkin' Lincoln, The Book Of Biff, Homestar Runner, Questionable Content, and Yehuda Moon and the Kickstand Cyclery.
They're all great, some VERY offensive to some people, some very geeky. But, I tend to be a goofy, geeky person so these pretty much tell you a lot about me.

Such individuals need to be hung from their family jewels off a Park workstand.

All great comics (your geek is showing ;)). I'm a big Questionable Content fan as well...XKCD too, and Cyanide & Happiness...also I gotta recommend 'Pictures for Sad Children' and 'Octopus Pie'.
