I remember when...

My living room in my small apartment looked like this:

I took that picture to put on couchsurfing.com about a year ago to host people that are traveling. Now my living room looks like this:

I enjoyed working on my personal bike so much that I thought it might be cool to tinker with *one* other, get it in decent shape, and sell. That was about a month ago. It's a slippery slope.

MUUUAAAHHH,AHHH,AHHH!!

Welcome to the Darkside.... As long as you stay single or date women who ride frequently, it will not be a problem.....

I think I figured this one out the last time I sold a women's bike (also the first time but who's counting).

"I'm glad you like it. I want to make sure it's comfortable for you so let's go for a little ride. I'll be right back with my bike."

dbakl 05-29-09 06:28 PM

I could still crash there given enough party incentive...

mkeller234 05-29-09 07:37 PM

my wife would KILL me. It does get like that sometimes, but she nips it in the butt early.

Time to get rid of the sofa, coffee table and roll-top... they're takin' way too much work space! ;)

cb400bill 05-29-09 08:43 PM

Hi neighbor.

After I spilled a little grease on the office carpet, my wife makes me keep the bike stuff in the garage.

3 years ago I could put the lawn mower in there. Not so much anymore.

RobbieTunes 05-29-09 09:10 PM

Yep, I rebuilt a 914 pancake engine in the kitchen when we were dating, had a CB750F in the living room. Not a peep.

After some ceremony in a church, that all changed.

I always find it very intresting to see other peoples work space nd storage areas

ozneddy 05-30-09 06:05 AM

I,m hearin ya Robbie !

Bam42685 05-30-09 08:22 PM

I think I'm noticing a trend. I'll have to enjoy it while I only have to answer to myself.

muccapazza 05-30-09 08:30 PM

couchsurfing.com?

Yeah, it's a site that helps travelers find a free place to stay. You can register your couch to make it available or search for a couch to stay on.

muccapazza 05-30-09 09:41 PM

Oh, that's cool. I'm not even going to to take a picture of my couch/work area. Carry on.

Oh, so you have any takers recently?

Yeah when I built my kdx 125 motor on the kitchen table the wife was not too keen on the idea when she got home and come to think of it my mother wasn't happy at all when I did it when I was a kid go figure:D

I don't see anything wrong with your livingroom as long as you can still see part of the TV I think your good:lol:

I've only ever had one taker since I started it. It was some guy moving from Nebraska to New York to teach. Somebody above mentioned "party incentive" and I think the teacher can testify that there is plenty of that. Of course you have to be extra careful not to taco a wheel mid-party now that they're laying on the floor. Luckily I live three blocks from my favorite bar so I just take people out of the house.

Also, the Schwinn on the stand in the picture is almost done now. I feel productive today because I repacked all the bearings and shined everything up. Now I just need to wait for my new tires and cables to arrive.

due ruote 05-31-09 04:16 PM

Well obviously the thing to do is put the new picture up on couchsurfing.com and see who shows up.

muccapazza 05-31-09 05:12 PM

Haha, I would. That's my new computer desktop background, hope you don't mind.

miamijim 05-31-09 06:34 PM

Balcony 2: Grinder and buffing wheel

Do they have a 'slims only' section? Flaquita solamente!

Bam42685 05-31-09 08:31 PM

muccapazza, I don't mind at all, in fact it's my desktop at work. Speaking of work, they have a grinder and buffing wheel so I think my back deck is safe for the time being from turning out like miamijim's.

DavidW56 05-31-09 09:44 PM

Thank you, all, for reminding me that I have it pretty good, despite everything else (like the economy, pay cut, etc.). I have 24 bikes crammed into one-third of the third bay of my three-car garage. There's no way I'd bring bikes into the house. I won't post a photo because, frankly, I'm not proud of the mess. I buy them faster than I get rid of them so far.

RobbieTunes 05-31-09 10:31 PM

you need roccobike's basement.
