I remember when...

My living room in my small apartment looked like this:

I took that picture to put on couchsurfing.com about a year ago to host people that are traveling. Now my living room looks like this:

I enjoyed working on my personal bike so much that I thought it might be cool to tinker with *one* other, get it in decent shape, and sell. That was about a month ago. It's a slippery slope.

I think I figured this one out the last time I sold a women's bike (also the first time but who's counting).

"I'm glad you like it. I want to make sure it's comfortable for you so let's go for a little ride. I'll be right back with my bike."

I could still crash there given enough party incentive...

Hi neighbor.

After I spilled a little grease on the office carpet, my wife makes me keep the bike stuff in the garage.

3 years ago I could put the lawn mower in there. Not so much anymore.

Yep, I rebuilt a 914 pancake engine in the kitchen when we were dating, had a CB750F in the living room. Not a peep.

After some ceremony in a church, that all changed.

I think I'm noticing a trend. I'll have to enjoy it while I only have to answer to myself.

Yeah, it's a site that helps travelers find a free place to stay. You can register your couch to make it available or search for a couch to stay on.

Oh, that's cool. I'm not even going to to take a picture of my couch/work area. Carry on.

Oh, so you have any takers recently?

Yeah when I built my kdx 125 motor on the kitchen table the wife was not too keen on the idea when she got home and come to think of it my mother wasn't happy at all when I did it when I was a kid go figure

I don't see anything wrong with your livingroom as long as you can still see part of the TV I think your good

I've only ever had one taker since I started it. It was some guy moving from Nebraska to New York to teach. Somebody above mentioned "party incentive" and I think the teacher can testify that there is plenty of that. Of course you have to be extra careful not to taco a wheel mid-party now that they're laying on the floor. Luckily I live three blocks from my favorite bar so I just take people out of the house.

Also, the Schwinn on the stand in the picture is almost done now. I feel productive today because I repacked all the bearings and shined everything up. Now I just need to wait for my new tires and cables to arrive.

Well obviously the thing to do is put the new picture up on couchsurfing.com and see who shows up.

muccapazza, I don't mind at all, in fact it's my desktop at work. Speaking of work, they have a grinder and buffing wheel so I think my back deck is safe for the time being from turning out like miamijim's.

Thank you, all, for reminding me that I have it pretty good, despite everything else (like the economy, pay cut, etc.). I have 24 bikes crammed into one-third of the third bay of my three-car garage. There's no way I'd bring bikes into the house. I won't post a photo because, frankly, I'm not proud of the mess. I buy them faster than I get rid of them so far.
