Quality 27x1.125 road tires

I'm shopping for a road tires for my 1984/85 Schwinn Traveler. It's got new Weinmann rm19 27x1.25 rims and it'd be nice to find QUALITY 27x1.125 tires to go along with them. White walls would be a big plus! I ride it pretty frequently and haven't been happy with the Forte tires I bought at Performance.com. I suppose I should be glad I can find tires at all but was hoping the group could recommend a source with a half-decent selection... Thanks in advance.

Panaracer Pasela TG is a good one. If your rims have a hook bead, you can get the folding ones. Otherwise go with the wire bead. I also like IRC Road Winner Duro II. Both these options have kevlar belts for puncture-resistance.

No quality "27x1.125" tires exist. In fact, no such tire exists.

Quality 27x1-1/8" tires exist. I concur with the Panaracer Pasela, though I have a liking of the IRC Roadwinner Duro II's - they have a beautiful "vintage" look about them. The old Specialized Turbos (long out of production) also looked quite nice, and to my knowledge were made in 1-1/4", 1-1/8", 1", and 7/8".

Thanks to all who replied. I'll visit the links provided and take the panaracers into consideration as well.

Another vote for Pasela TG.

I have them on my touring bike and my every day commuter bike. Love them

I just ordered a pair of 27x1 1/4 Continental Ultra Gatorskin overnight from bicycletires.com seeing that my Fortes are about shredded. They're wider than I'd like but they take up to 120psi so I'm hoping they'll give me the ride I'm looking for. I'd like to find high psi 27x1 1/8" tires, though, so I'll continue to research the suggestions everyone made. These suckers are impossible to find locally in ANY style.

P.S.: Thanks for the additions, Kurt.

I've been riding the Vittoria Zafirro on a few bikes for the last couple of years and I've been very pleased. You have to like it as a blackwall. Not as wide as a 27X1 & 1/4, but significantly bigger then the 27x1s.

I recently put on a Pacela on my rear wheel, also 27". I got it cheap. I am quite impressed. Very nice tire. As they say on cheesy commericals, why pay more?

Ah yes, the 27x1-3/8" tire. Don't believe Specialized ever made anything in that size.
