Raleigh made in Holland?

Anyone able to school me on a mid 70's Raleigh Grand Prix with a Made in Holland under Gazelle sticker?

Bikes: Mostly English - predominantly Raleighs

They made them. Don't know about a Gazelle sticker, but they had the letter G starting the serial number.

Raleigh had a lot of their bikes built by Gazelle; especially in the Bike Boom 70's in order to keep up with demand.

You can learn about the Grand Prix here: https://sheldonbrown.com/retroraleighs/grand-prix.html

I don't know why, but suddenly I want an Irish Raleigh. And a Guinness.

My Gazelle made 1974 Grand Prix had standard British threading on the bottom bracket instead of the Raleigh threading, making the cotterless conversion much easier. The fork still had the Raleigh threading. I've read here on BF that the build quality of the Dutch Grand Prix was better than that of the Nottingham built ones.

This one has an odd mix of components in comparison to the catalog specs. I have read that bikes made in Holland rarely had standardized componentry and were more customized by the shop/owner upon purchase. Regardless, this one is dead frame and forkwise due to a front end collision. Honestly, I just noticed the sticker while I was pulling everything off to go on EBay. I've seen quite a few Raleighs and never knew they were made by Gazelle at one point.

Or a Malaysian Raleigh and a Singha (well, close, anyway).

My Triumph (Raleigh's lower line) has a sticker on the seat tube, just under the seat lug stating that it was made by Gazelle in Holland.

I like the mojo that it gives the bike.

Supposedly many of the very early, late 60's Raleigh GP's were made by Gazelle, I could never find any indication on mine. But it does have a Carlton race approved decal.
