Looking for information on 80's Ritchey
I have a mid 80's Ritchey mountain bike, but it has no model number or name on it, and I was wondering if there are any sites that I can enter the serial number and it will call up the information? I've tried e-mailing Ritchey but havn't recieved a response back as of yet.

Give us a picture or two. Does it have a fillet brazed or tig welded frame? Fillet brazed stem? Bullmoose bars? If so, are they fillet brazed or tig welded? Any stickers mentioning frame tubing. All of this will help narrow the search.
The shop I worked at during from '84 to '88 carried Ritchey mountain bikes. I own an '85 Commando. It has a fillet brazed frame and tig welded bullmoose bars. Camoflage paint job. Custom paint was common during that time.

80's Ritchey...
go to www.oldmountainbikes.com... look for your serial number on the bottom of the bottom bracket... the website will tell you how to read the serial number and figure out the model and year... Tom wasn't real consistient on his serial numbers from year to year...
I have a 79' Palo Alto Ritchey Road, an 85' Timber Wolf, and a 95' Crazy Pete... Tom gave me the 79' Palo Alto in 1980 when I was 15 years old.
