Based on that one pic I'd guess it's a C&V-ish frame with CF replacement fork (boo!) and modern wheels + drivetrain, but maybe the frame is more recent than I'd hope for, too (?)

A Cinelli with SL tubing in great shape with original components, maybe, but there's a demand for vintage Cinelli bikes and frames. I haven't seen that level of demand for Billato-built Lemond frames. If if were a Lemond Pro built by Roland Della Santa, sure. I could see that.

My main point is that if you want a vintage SL frame and 600 "tricolor" parts, there are plenty of examples on the market in good shape that are $1000 or less from other manufacturers. $1800 seems like a very optimistic price from the seller unless he can find a hardcore Lemond fan who wants that paint job. If he can, more power to him. But hey, I'm just some guy on the internet and a casual observer of the market. If the seller knows something that I don't, that could factor in. And anyone is entitled to define their selling price.

a 2021 price perhaps. My guess originally for 27” wheels, exchanged for 700c, probably Rigida. Mafac brakes and Idealé 90 seat.
if the brakes are Dural Forge, then possibly original to the bike shop sale.
nice pinstriping.

Who knows in this market, but earlier Kleins are pretty well regarded.

I've owned both, 1990-1 models. I think the Trek was a bit lighter, at least the 1990 750 vs 1991 Crosscut. They rode very nice, I'm a fan of both.

BTW, I also have a 1995 Trek 730. It's not lugged like the 1990 750 but is definitely lighter and a bit easier up hills. The 750 is a little more "solid" feeling. Again, both great imo.

Caminada? $400, Cleveland Ohio

I can't really find any info on this, it is lacking in any kind of branding and seems to have been repainted. Seller claims Columbus SL, components are a blend of Campagnolo, Dura-Ace, and 600 Technicolor

Got a huge stash of spare parts? Looking for a lifetime of projects? This could be for you!

Two or three of these, like that Viscount, look interesting but I'm not sure they are worth buying all the chaff to get them.

Is there any real value with these Viscounts? I've seen a couple for sale at $50-ish but it seemed like just an "ok" bicycle with a lot of potential issues

I'm not 100% sure I think it depends on the model. I believe some were nicer aluminum, with pressed in BB bearings, and nicely specced and some were run of the mill. This may have been the former but with a replacement fork. If it was near me and $50 I'd grab it just because they are sort of unusual.

On the plus side when you get one CHEAP (which is the only price I'd pay for an "Aerospace" Viscount or Lambert) you get a very light and lively plain-gauge STEEL frame that was hand-brazed by former British Aerospace fabricators. The seamless (?) tubing they used was something called "Lightening" and good quality stuff AFAIK, but it wasn't Reynolds 531 DB.

But the downside is you also have several weaknesses such as the pressed-in BB bearings with NO-taper square-end spindle (very poor) that mates with the TA lookealike crankset (could be good if that wasn't a no-taper hole)...most of the remaining components are just as crappy, but you were going to ditch all that stuff anyway, right?

Next trouble spot is the pinch-bolt barrel brazed to the seat tube top, these sometimes rip away!

And of course the infamous cast-aluminum Death Fork, which if you're lucky was replaced with something decent (and steel) before you bought your "project".

All that said, if you solve for all all the built-in defects, they give a very nice ride!

EDIT: if you really want to dig in deep (who wouldn't?) there's weeks of browsing fodder in this online group devoted to the lore and practice of Lambert/Viscount bikes (got to this via the CR site):
https://viscountandlambert.boards.net/
