Hi big. I too responded and the new bid was $150. All I really wanted from this bike was the front rack! And I agree, this Schwinn in no way is worth venturing out in this snow storm. I wonder what it eventually sold for?

I might be. Maybe because I'm doing this via my phone but I see a Masi when I click the link. Cassette or freewheel? I would need a 5 or 6 speed freewheel hub.

Biofuel 02-01-11 11:10 AM

Is $500 reasonable for this TREK 620?

Those questions belong here.

In that condition I would say yes. It has a true touring geometry, all the nice touring features like low-rider mounts on the fork, a rear rack made for that specific frame, all 531cs construction, etc. etc. My son has one and it rides very nicely. I just wish it fit me instead of him.

Actually he still is! He retired to compete in Iron man triathlons and still occasionally shows up to race at mountain bike races.

triplebutted 02-01-11 10:23 PM

And John Howard still holds clinics down San Diego. I did the 24 hour race in Central Park one year and all I remember was John Howard lapping me every 30 seconds. WTF?!

This is now relisted at $50. Surely it's worth a ferry ride now.

Five hour ferry ride that stops in Canada?

LesterOfPuppets 02-02-11 01:03 AM

You can just ferry to Bainbridge, drive from there. Bit of a haul, but a pretty nice bike for cheap.

Looks like a C-dale T series.

Cannondale Touring/Commuting Bike 56cm - $340 (SJU/City Avenue)

Reply to: sale-sbpf8-2193131864@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?]

Cannondale touring bike from the 1980s with a 56cm (c-to-c) top tube and 57cm (c-to-c) seat tube. It has all sorts of rack bosses, LX rear derailluer, Shimano bar end controllers and aero levers, Suntour Superbe crankset, sealed bottom bracket, new rack, wide clinchers and a Phil rear freewheel hub. The frame has oversized tubing but with a long wheelbase so the long stays and extended fork rake provide a lot of shock absorption. Clip and strap platform pedals are included, as is Cinelli cork tape and alloy fenders, but are not in the photos. The paint is in excellent shape and the cables are new.
