I passed on a nice Raleigh 3-speed for $30 recently, maybe this is karma telling me I need to learn the intricacies of Sturmey-Archer. For "needing work" it doesn't look horrible. For the price

Vintage Motobecane Grand Record - $300 (Inwood / Wash Hts)
1973 Motobecane Grand Record road bike in great condition, especially considering its age. This bike was the pinnacle of French bicycle design in its day and still provides a quality ride that is hard to beat with any modern bike. It has almost all original components, including 1972 Campagnolo Nuovo Record, Stronglight Competition, Nervar, Weinmann, Cinelli, Normandy Luxe Competion hubs, and a nice Brooks Professional saddle. Reynolds 531 frame is 60 cm. Location is 218th & Seaman.

The frame and components has no rust, except for the down tube shifter cable holder. The bottom bracket still spins very smooth and clean. The frame is straight, no dents, and no cracks. Everything in working condition; just needs a cleanup and degrease down from collecting debris causing it to build up gunk. Selling the whole frame for $650 and I will not part it out."

I have an unhealthy addiction to working on bikes and have accumulated a number of bicycle parts. Some of the most space consuming parts include several front and rear 27 inch wheels. Each wheel will come with skewer (if applicable), tube, and tire. These wheels are in good condition and they are pumped and as ready to ride as you are. As payment I will accept of one six pack of beer (I'm fond of the Brooklyn beers, but I will take Pabst or Simple Times if you are on a tighter budget) or $10. Considering that a new wheel costs at least $25, a tire costs at least $10 and a tube costs at least $3, you should probably e-mail me right away. If you are a bike work novice I will even help you put the thing on your bike.
I also have brake calipers, brake levers, derailleurs, chains, pedals, an old lockring...you get the idea...EMAIL ME!

Purchased new in the spring of 1991, this Merlin (54) Titanium frame is in good condition as are the Dura Ace Components on it. There is some chain wear and some wear of the cassette (there may be some extra gears available. It has Mavic rims and new tires. This is one of the original Merlin bikes made in Sommervile - it has the grease guard crank system which means newer cranks will probably not fit. Would make a good rain/second bike.
