Oh, bought. Wow, it's dirty. Came with a Brooks Pro though and the group is like 9/10 condition. Frame has some superficial rust spots. Will get pics going on a full teardown thread soon.

The original owner was heartbroken to see if go but he has a much earlier Pro with super early NR on it in his size. It's my perrfect size!

I was the first caller and looked at it and passed. Honestly, just didn't strike me as all that special and needed a lot of work. Had ugly black Simplex rear derailleur. The wheels were steel and the rear wheel was rather bent up. There was quite a bit of surface rust and missing paint on the lugs especially at the top. That paint was quite poor and wasn't like some paint jobs that you can tell that will clean up nicely. Cottered cranks.

In a nutshell, looks MUCH better in the picture than it did in person. It needs someone who wants to restore it unlike me. If it wasn't french, I might have bought it for 20-30 dollars just to convert to square taper and upgrade the parts but I really didn't want to fall into the sinkhole of french converted square taper bottom brackets and how much it costs.

The owner was a really nice guy who bought it brand new back in the early '70s. I bet he would have taken 20-30 dollars but I just didn't want a restoration project and let it go to the next guy who wanted something like that. I'm more looking for a mid '80s to mid '90s steel lugged frame to rebuild using my nice parts that I have saved up.

I thought you or Mazda would want it, but, sometimes condition is everything. I did notice that it no longer shows up on CL. Someone sure liked it!

If it was a Schwinn or something with a standard bottom bracket, i would have bitten even with the poor paint. But with the odd french threads and the poor paint, it just wasn't the restoration project for me. i'm not looking for something that needs to be restored. I want to rebuild something.

Actually since the update pagination hasn't gotten as buggy as it was. It used to be (and sometimes still is), that when threads get long (say over 100 pages) sometimes it'll say there's another page when there really isn't and things just get wonky in general.

Sometimes, but a lot of times I get them when there are still 18 or so posts yet to turn the page (or it could be the fact that I have it set to show 30 posts a page that screws everything up).

Great last line!
================================
1987 Gios Nuovo Compact Frame/Fork - $300
For Sale:

1987 Gios Nuovo Compact in ORIGINAL rare white paint. This was a custom special order frame from Gios in 1987-88.
TT= 57.5cm ctc ST=60.5cm ctc
Columbus SLX Tubing with panto'd Gios lugs all around - Internal cable routing through TT (I will include some NOS Cinelli TT guides!!!)
Gios polished 1" fork with panto'd crown and lugs - Gios fastback seatstays (campagnolo pinch bolt)- Gios sliding dropouts for a super tight crit/climbing frame!!!!! (126 mm, but no fuss getting 130 in)
Braze on front derailluer - Chain hanger - DT shifter bosses - ST and DT bottle mounts - Pump peg under TT
Italian BB threads w/ heavily vented BB Shell
Buttery smooth Ultegra Headset
27.0 ID seat tube
PRISTINE head tube badge
No dents or dings - small scratches here and there, but amazing quality for being a 25 year old frame

I am the second owner of this frame. I purchased it from the original owner who had it built by Gios in '87. It has been well taken care of and has very few actual miles.
Never mounted on a trainer,
Never used as a rain bike.
Never crashed or laid down.
Always mechanic owned and maintained since the original purchase date.

No low ballers. I'm not in a hurry to sell this frame. It's worth every penny of the asking price.
It would look amazing with a period correct Record build or maybe even a new-school Ultegra group.
If you plan on turning this into a "fixie" please don't respond.

Selling 47 cm bianchi bike frame with handlebars. 80.00 obo
Smaller frames are hard to find and this is a great frame for a woman. I was going to build it for myself, but I do not have the time nor the money for this side project. This is a really cool frame and I don't really want to get ride of it, but I just moved and I do not have room for it.

Please call Brittany if interested at 509-432-9095.
Thanks!
