i was recently hit by a truck while riding my andre bertin bike and am just looking to see what the value of this bike may be. it has been upgraded to all shimano 105 componets i cant find any model numbers at all on the end of the top tube i have found a stamping of 72, it has renyolds 501 tubing with mavic ma 2 rims and 105 hubs. not to sure hoe to post pictures email me and i can send them to you.ruffedgrouse@comcast.net thank you for your help

shimano 105, reynolds 501, and mavic ma2 were all mid range. The 72 won't indicate 1972 because reynolds 501 frames started production in 1983. if your trying to get compensation from the truck that hit you, say its a road bike with a reynolds frame, shimano parts with mavic wheels and you should get a good deal.

First off put your pictures on your computer in, say - Document. Then get a free account (Really - it's free) on something like Photobucket:

Then transfer the photos from you computer to your new account - instructions are easy. Then when you wish to add one to your post, read the simple directions on how to Copy & Paste the URL of the photo to the proper icon on your post.

It's mostly reading. You'll have it done in two tries.

Knowing that it's 501 tubing with 105 components, we can give a reasonably accurate range of original price based on whether it is indexed shifting or not and number of cogs.

Ok, it's circa 1987/1988 and comparable models were selling for $500-$600 US.
