Way Assauto Pedals..

What's the story with these pedals. I found a set today and they look very nice and spin so smooth. For those of you who have used them; How good or bad were they?

Do you know the country of manufacture? I've not heard of this brand until seeing this thread.

Pretty pedals. Might be something a bit special. You will be very interested in the CR article linked below.

Bikes: '17 Trek Emonda, '16 Yeti ASR5, '14 Cdale F29 '08 Orbea Orca.

Roll Monroe beat me to the punch. I have the original ones that came on my preowned '71 Mirella. I like them very much. Mine also had Cornez toe clips attached to my Way-Assautos which I was also interested to find out about as well. Unfortunately, the toe clips are rather rusted...

These were also badged up as Campag Sport pedals in the 1960s and 1970s so I would guess they were made in Italy...

Yes WA pedals were made in Italy and were standard (for a while) on some Legnano bikes. I think production went into the 60s and mabe even the 70s amazingly enough. Anybody know more?

Thanks. I didn't even bother to check CR. These seem very nice but, like my campy pedals, my feet just don't sit well on these.

This discussion forum thread gives an excellent history of the Way-Assauto company and their products.

Many images are included.

Company still in operation today.

Production of cycle related products ended ~1972.

I put some on the 58 Paramount, pretty cool and correct I think.
