Derailer adaptor

Hi there, I have an old Raleigh Super Record with a claw adaptor for my Suntour derailer. It works perfectly fine and I do not have a problem there. The problem exists when mounting my rear wheel into the dropout.. It appears that there's some leeway between the skewer on this side and the back side of the dropout. If I don't have the quick release skewer on extremely tight, I get a wobbly tire... Is there a way to mount a claw on the opposite side so the wheel is flush when mounting it? Thanks!
