Apply Spray Paint with a Brush?

I have a rattle can of spray paint that's a good match for my bike's color. I have some rust touch up to do; would it work to spray the paint into a little bottle, and then use a small brush to apply it?

Thanks,

Yup. I usually spray it into the lid of the spray can. It comes out thin so I let some of it evaporate and then it still takes a couple of coats.
