Ward Hawthorne

A friend gave me a Wards Hawthorne mens bike. He said it's a 1947 bike. Since I don't know much about vintage bikes I need some help.
First, I've cleaned it up and it looks good. I need a chain and the seat needs to be re-done.
Under the bottom bracket the number: GO1649 or G01649 is stamped. Don't know what numbers Hawthorne used and what they mean can anyone help?

Sold by Montgomery wards but made by someone else. It's not a diamond frame is it?
Try www.thecabe.com, they're much more savvy with that kind of bike.

'Hawthorne' was the Ward house brand, so possibly most or every model of bicycle they sold was a 'Hawthorne'. Pictures would help. 1947? Possibly a Cleveland Welding bike?

Any luck?

Any luck figuring out the vintage of the Hawthorne? I haven't found a good site to look up Hawthorne's that are post 1930's vintage.

Example: https://fortcollins.craigslist.org/bik/1360641494.html
