(Head badges)
(This is bad)
(But I'm really starting to like that Kabuki headbadge)
(I wonder if the next owner of the bike would miss it)
(Typing this in parens because I don't want to type outloud)
(It's probably a C&V sin to remove a headbadge from an intact bike)
(But I'm really starting to like it)
(I shouldn't and probably won't remove it)
(Probably)
(Okay I'll leave it alone)
(And start to keep an eye open for a damaged frame bent fork Kabuki to pull a headbadge off of)
Whew, that was close.

Kabuki was the popular stage drama in 18th-19th century Japan, contrasted with Noh dramas, which were considered high art. What you like is copied from a Japanese woodblock print of a Kabuki actor, collected in Japan sort of like we might collect autographed movie stars' pictures. What you really want to do is start collecting these little puppies. They aren't astronomically expensive (usually) and you could really get to like the whole Edo approach to art, if you like that headbadge.

I thought I recognized the Kabuki name from somewhere, thanks for the reconnection.
Probably a real good thing for me that nobody made a bicycle with a Maori styled headbadge.
I'm gettin' me an idear about this bike, and I almost have the parts to do it. Gotta measure the chainring BCD. This might be fun.
Going to look into to Kabuki figures and artworks too.

Someone recently had a few auctions of groups of headbadges and I'm sure Kabuki was among them. They were something like 10-12 badges in each group. Auctions ended a week or two ago--but maybe there are more?
