Handlebar Re-wrap?
I'm on the fence about this. I see the cracks on the brake hoods, but they've been there a long time and I have a pair of replacements in reserve. I really like the "dirt patina" on them though, and am hesitant to disturb it.
I only use the bike for commuting 15 miles a day in Santa Clara County, so the wear seen took a long time to do. I wrapped the ends that were comming up near the stem with waxed black lacing tape, and that worked very well. You can get a 500 yard roll for $20, and all your friends will have a lifetime's supply! It's used to wrap and tie wire bundles.
What's your opinions? Should I re-wrap? Or should I let it ride for another year?

I would replace bar tape with the real stuff. I bought quite a bit of bar tape from PBK recently, around $3.50 a bike. Just went to their website, they don't have the inexpensive stuff right now, odd.
+1 I like your lever hoods, nice patina to them. They appear to have plenty of life left in them.

Well, I have to say that I couldn't live with that. A little patina from wear is nice but that bar tape is trashed and those hoods look neglected. It ain't Fausto Coppi's bike in a museum. I'd have to replace the tape with some Tressostar black tape and take an old soft toothbrush and some mild soapy water to those hoods. Then maybe 3-4 coats of shellac and voila! beauty!

Cheap and easy???
Tape is indeed inexpensive but not necessarily easy to apply properly. But hoods are another story. They are not cheap in my humble opinion.
I tend to change handlebar tape each season and almost always if I buy a bike from someone else. With a Pandemic a real possibility these days, I wash my hands several times a day and try to decontaminate things that I use regularly, such as the tape on my handlebars. And, I take the time to clean and disinfect my hoods also. But that is just me...

Cheapest price I've found from a reputable seller. I've done business with these folks for years. Perfect. The price is for TWO rolls - enough for both side of the bars:

Ben's Cycle (Google) is cheaper, but they are Out Of Stock.

I would replace the tape. I like the cork stuff for the added cushion. Makes riding more pleaseant and looks nice too.
I would wait on the brake hoods if they still feel basically intact. I have a few bikes that need new hoods, and if I keep them, I an considering replacing the levers with Nashbar aero or the Tektro R200 levers. For a few dollars more than a set of hoods, you get modern levers too. Heck the last time I bought a set of the Nashbar levers, they came with an extra set of hoods.

When rewraping bars with Camp levers, unbolt the levers leaving the mounting bracket and rewrap. That way you don't have to fold back the hoods and it looks better too!
