122 BCD Stronglight ring?

I bought 48 and 40 tooth rings for my Stronglight 93 from an eBay seller in the Netherlands. The 48 is perfect and it has the hole for the pin, so it actually is a front ring. The 40 looks just like a ring for a 93, but the holes for the chainring bolts are undersized. I've already solved the problem using my drill press, but I'm curious to know what crank that ring was made for.

Does it have another 5 holes at a smaller bcd? Could it be model 49d or 63?
Does it have another extra set of holes drilled at another bcd? The rings in the following photo fit the model 99 crank and interestingly enough the two with the extra holes above the standard mounts line up exactly with a model 93:

However, I don't see how you could mount them to a 93 crank without cutting some metal away.

It looks just like this one, but the holes were smaller. I had drill out the holes and then countersink for chainstay clearance.
