Bikes: Old Schwinns and old Raleighs

Spoke Question

Thanks to the help of the ever-generous Pastor Bob here on the boards, I've now got a working Raleigh wheel set with Westrick rims. I always have thought very highly of these parts, even if they aren't the most modern. Anyway, the rear wheel needs a spoke. Would I be able to get a replacement spoke at a local bike shop? Or are these search items these days? I haven't gone looking for spokes in ages, since I didn't need them for the longest time (string of luck). Would I be able to just get some spokes at a local shop, or are these not around any more? I'd prefer galvanized steel to match what I have, but I will settle for stainless if needed-- just looking for something that fits. Where do you get your spokes for these old 40 hole SA wheels?

Bikes: IRO Mark V, Karate Monkey half fat, Trek 620 IGH, Cannondale 26/24 MTB, Amp Research B3, and more.

You should not have trouble getting a spoke of any length at any full-service bike shop. Many cut their own to length right there. And it should only cost a few dollars or less.

+1, and try to get stainless. They may see "traditional" rims and give you galvanized or something else, but most shops tossed them out years ago.
