Another “Help ID my Bianchi” thread

My newest old bike.

I mentioned this in a couple ongoing threads but my “thread killer” mojo seems to be on, so here goes again!

Many thanks to bianchigirll who suggested it might be an Eros. Could be … but the color is not "slate" I don't think.

Here are a few details about it:

- Serial number: A404761 (the 0 is hard to read - could be a D, 8, 9?).

- Rear dropouts have T124 (?) stamped on them.

- No tubing sticker. (DT sticker says "Campagnolo Equipped")

- Mostly Chorus with a Dura-Ace headset. But the build offers few clues. Prior owner got it as frameset + headset and built it up.

- 8-cog cassette.

- Oversized/ovalized downtube – round at head tube, horizontal oval at BB.

- Internal cable routing in top tube.

- Sparkly silver metallic paint. Black pinstripe on top of TT and back of seatstays.

- Weighs 22-23 lbs as pictured.

I have no idea what kind of Bianchi it is ... does anyone?

Probably a mid/late 90's model. The seat stays are in a fastback configuration. The fork is a unicrown.

Can you show some pics of exactly how oval that downtube is?

it might be repainted but near as I can tell it is a '92 or so likely a Tange infinity frame. doe it look like maybe it was repainted around the luggs?

I don't think I see any signs of repainting ...

I just love those Bianchi BB shells. I still think this the Eros slate does not have to be dark and Bianchi could have changed the color mid season

Bianchi has been using an oversized and ovalized DT on almost all bikes since about '92 as part of their "SuperSet 2" frame design
