This is close enough to go get (save $50+ shipping.) It has a round Schwinn Badge with just Chicago. I asked for Serial No, but they couldn't find it. I'm thinking either a letour or a world but I lost track of what schwinn was doing in the 80's b/c I bought a trek and never looked back. Thinking if i could snag this for under/around $100 it would be worth it. (Not wild about the color scheme, but a friend (FEMALE)is looking for a BIKE and this might fit the bill

IMHO, looks like a re-paint to me and a poor rattle can job with overspray. I doubt it's a World with the chrome tip fork and down tube shifters. An older LeTour would fit, but so would others. If I had to guess, I'd vote for a Hi-Tensile frame. IMHO, $100 is a keeper price and at the higher end of what that bike is worth. If you don't have to pay shipping, it might be worth it. Two years ago I would have said this bike is worth about $50, but prices have skyrocketed in the last year and a half. So $100 for a road ready vintage bike is worth it.

I could not enlarge the picture, but it is a good guess that it could be a LeTour.

Junk with an awful paint job. Look at the overspray on the headset. OUCH!

An '81 Le Tour, with sidepull calipers instead of centerpulls? Note the crankset and brake lever similarity. But I believe it should have stem shifters. Possible these were switched along with the seatpost? Who knows? Ask about the four digit date stamp in the head badge.
I think I'd want to see this bike before bidding, so is it worth a 2-3 hour road trip up to Lagrange? The seller likes that pink saddle!!!
