I need a recomendation.
well i've got my Gitane stripped down to the frame, forks, stem, and crankset. I plan on repainting it after i get it down to a bare frame. But i also plan on converting it into a single speed, just something that i can use to cruise my neighborhood and not have to worry about changin gears.
So what kind of wheel(if any) would i need to use on the back? I dont even care if it has a coaster brake or no brake, i just really wanna get riding this bike again. also is there any place i can buy Ginate decals for this bike? its a 75' Tour de France, ive been told.
Thanks,Jeff
Edit, on the forks and the back part of the frame its a dull aluminum, would the whole frame be aluminum then? if so how can i get the paint off without scratching the aluminum to a unrepairable status?

Just take the existing freewheel off, put 3/32" single speed freewheel on, respace axle spacers(flip axel around basicly), re-dish wheel. Think about it a while and it will sink in. Its a bike, simple stuff really. Is it a Gitane?
