Spoke Question
What size spoke is needed to lace a 36 hole Raleigh Sports Rim (westrick) to a SA AW hub?

If you have a built wheel now, you could measure. Otherwise, I don't know; not what I build. How bout a Camp highflange to a 700c 3 cross?

Thanks for the tip-- I tried the Harris Excel Calculator
does the following sound right:
36 spokes, cross 3 pattern
Raleigh Westrick Pattern Rim, 26 x 1 3/8
Spoke length= 274.4 mm (10 4/5 inches)
14 gauge spokes
Anyone know if that's off?

Measure the hub, measure the ERD of the rim, the hub offset (if it is a rear and if there is any), and number of spokes then use a spoke calculator.
No one one can tell you the correct spoke length without that information. And if you already have that information post it with your question.

are you lacing 'standard' 3x, or something else? 2x, 4x, radial, crowsfoot?

Raleigh once used a 40 hole 4x rear and 32 hole 3x front... I understand that it enabled you to use the same length spokes for both front and rear. At some time in the early 70's they changed to using 36 holes front and rear.

Correct-- this particular wheel is a 1974 36 spoke. I got measurements from a local shop that measured 274.1 mm. My own measurements using an online calculator gave 274.8 mm. I don't think that's much of a meaningful difference. It seems to be an appropriate number.
