Ciöcc US question and restore update
Loving the recent Ciöcc activity. For my restore, I asked Giovanni if we could redo the period-correct graphics as seen in this photo. Still waiting to see if they've found originals to reproduce. I hadn't seen this graphic style until recently. I'm wondering the following... When did Ciöcc first start to appear in the US, and did this graphic style ever come over in large numbers?
PS - big thanks to unworthy1 for the NR parts! Also, since being on C&V, I've found two new must-haves... Martano and Legnano (I love 'dead' Italian brands, even if Bianchi is still trying with low-end Legnanos).
I'm glad to say that I made a sweet deal with a local shop for a NR bb and brake levers, along with three wheels for this bike (one set to show, one to ride). One is a '71 Record front laced to... a Martano! Now to find a matching rear.

Nope, I have never seen one with those graphics before, but if we can get good clear pics of the set, there are a couple of folks who can reproduce them (Cyclomondo, AKA Greg Softley; and Velocals, AKA JR Anderson).
It's fantastic that you have personal contact with Giovanni Pelizolli, that's a rare privilege for us here in the US to hear about!
I also haven't seen that particular Martano label, before...I thought they all had the "bowtie" shape, this is another new one for me (which ain't saying much).
Also good to hear that there's some support to the story of Ciocc being used by the Polish Team, up till now is was just another unconfirmed Ciocc story we heard...I didn't see the brand in this country until about '80 or so, then they started to get more common when TSD became the main importer, maybe '84 or so.

Evidently, that's the old "wings" Martano logo. ps - it polished up REAL nicely.
Here's the photo I found (can't remember from where) of the Polish team rider with his old school Ciöcc. The image name calls it out as being a 76. But notice the slightly different downtube logo ("special" and the strange "O"). The seat tube decals call out "Curno" which is where his shop is located.
