Source for tubulars?

New member getting ready to get back into riding. I have a Cilo with tubulars. Back in the day I used Clement tires; the set of Paris-Roubaix that's on there now probably should not touch the road again based on how dry-rotted the sidewalls look.
Any suggestions for good sources for tires?

I get mine from e-bay and local racers who have converted to wired-on tyres.

To get the bike up and running the tires from Yellow Jersey in Madison ,WI arent bad. They sell them 3 for $50. Google Yellow Jersey for the website. They in no way compare to your Clement Paris-Roubaix tires, but they ride OK. Check ebay also. Nice tires come up on there once in a while. For nicer tires like the Clements you are looking at over $100 per tire. Vittoria has a few to choose from under $100.

Tires make all the difference. Worth the money to get really good ones if you can swing it. You can sometimes still find original NOS Clements on eBay, but the modern molds, especially in silk (Veloflex, Challenge), are excellent too. If color isn't critical, these Challenge Criteriums are a great deal.

There's an English website that has good prices, free shipping. I don't know about the prices on the high quality ones, but the cheap ones when they were in stock were like $15. Probike or something like that. Someone else will have to chime in the the name/address.

Yellow Jersey has all kinds of tubulars, not just the low end. Their website is a mess, but you can find some great deals on there if you look long enough - or just screw the website and email them. They answer back right away, usually.

There are often Tufos on eBay, the S-33 seems to be pretty light, and they have cross tires, too. Raleigh CL currently has some NOS cross tires in tubular by Tufo, $60 for the pair.

If you have the money, get the Dugasts or FMBs.

a mess might be an understatement. I get a headache when I go there. it is hard to what is for sale and what is just being shown off.

Thanks for the quick replies, all!!! I'll check around. I'm a bit bummed about my old Paris-Roubaix I have on there now, they really don't have many miles on them, just old.

Bianchigirl I see what you mean about yellow jersey, I have a headache now after about 10 minutes.
I know this thread is worthless without pictures - once I get it rebuilt and polished I'll get a few pics on the classics thread.

I'm using a slightly fatter version of this Challenge tubular, and they're wonderful. And Excel does not lie. This price is below wholesale.

If you like to pay more, your local shop can order these through QBP.
