My Romani Frame - Circa 1980

I finally took some pictures of my Romani frame and thought I'd upload them. I haven't found too much information about these frames on the web. Frames Romani was started in 1924. Mine has a 50-year commemorative decal. I don't think they are in business any longer. I bought this bike from Mel Pinto in 1981 and had it re-painted around 1993.

The lugs have cut-outs in them which I had painted in white. The forks are stamped with an "R" and the seat stays have the word "ROMANI". The paint job is much better than the original. The original color was blue with chrome chainstays. The entire frame was chromed so the original paint didn't adhere too well. The frame painter bead-blasted the entire frame before putting on the new coat of paint. I opted for Ferrari red, white accents for the cutouts, etc., with a touch of metal-flake in the clearcoat.

Bikes: The ones with wheels

Nice frame man. Love the work on the lugs.

What do you plan on doing to it?

I still have all of the original Campy Nuovo Record components that came with the bike stashed away in boxes. So I'm going to put it all back on. I need to swap out the headset with a Campy SR headset that I picked up awhile back. The saddle is an old Brooks saddle that was on my wife's bike that she never got used to. I also picked up a tubular wheelset that a guy in our club was getting rid of. I had the dropouts respaced so I can run a 7-speed cassette on it. For riding, I'll put on clipless pedals since I dont have cycling shoes with cleats anymore.
