Posting Pics
well I had tought the new forum would be nice but... just how do I post a pic from my documents folder or does it have to be online somewhere already?
also the fact that long threads, ISO, whacky Cl&Ebay, etc don't have a last page option is becoming annoying

I can't post new pictures either. The few that are already on the forum are available but I don't know how to upload new ones from my computer.
And don't worry. Improvement includes both success and error. You'll get it right and we will all be happy for it.

Under the reply text box (where you type your message) click the "Go Advanced" button. Then click the "Manage Attachments" button under the "Additional Options" banner. Looks like the file management system is an upgrade, because all previous photos you've loaded should show up there (this should save space by avoiding duplicate file uploads). At any rate, to add new files, click the "Add Files" button in the upper right corner of the pop-up box. Then, in the new pop-up box which gives a list of the files you've newly uploaded, there's a button at the bottom that appears blank on my monitor. I assume this is "Browse" because when I click it, it opens a file management window for my computer. Select your file, click "Upload Files", then in the "Attachments" frame, select the pic by clicking on the little box, then click the "Insert Inline" button.
Is that complicated enough?

Looks like larger attachments can be uploaded!

I tried posting a new thread with pics but cant find anywhere to click to add links or images.Am i missing something or is this a problem with the new forum? The spot you type in your message is also extremely long.I want the old forum back.I've been going to other forums since the change and have seen other members of this forum there at night.
This "new" forum reminds me of an uncle I had that always "fixed" things until they broke.I dont think this was necessary to fix the forum as it was user friendly allready.

I missed a step, sorry. "Go Advanced" will load a new page, not a pop-up box. So you'll have an expanded area in which to reply, and lots of extra features under the area where you type text. The pop-up box appears after you click the "Manage Attachments" button under the "Additional Options" banner. If you still don't get a pop-up box, either your browser or a security program may be blocking pop-ups.

I'll give this new procedure a try.

edit: I tried to post a full size pic from my computer and I posted a small but clickable pic. How do I post a full size pic from my computer?

Cannot do that (like with the old system)...
You have to go to the URL tab (have the pic uploaded at a photo sharing site eg. flickr and grab its URL) and uncheck the button on the bottom, unless you want a thumbnail as well...

I can see how the attachment system is improved, but its just not got all the bugs out yet.
