Spotted this in a pawn shop today, and put out the word locally to see if someone had it stolen. Got the news pretty quickly that it was legit, local gent pawned it and got behind on the loan :(

These are so cool, if I had space one of them would be getting some serious consideration.

This is a prime example of how things used to be. These were built to hold any bike, probably mopeds and maybe more.

It was up to you as the operator to finesse it to not damage whatever was being worked on, it was and IMO is a required skill paramount to all tasks, especially working on bicycles, frames and parts.

Some require great force and therefore great skill being lightweight and fragile. Hamfisted often results in chopped liver.

Many complain if something like this damages the workpiece when it is negligence of the operator for not understanding all aspects of the task.

If you are replacing a BB, the setup is part of the task, it needs to be secure in the stand but it needs to not be damaged during the process, especially if brute force needs to be used as is often the case, "I got the BB out but it was too tight so the stand damaged the tube", the stand did not damage the tube, the one performing the task damaged the tube by not being diligent about the whole process. ;)

Canadian built, Italian type geometry. I have one. I also bought a nice Miele with all 105 group fot a tall friend (I'd have kept it if I didn't know someone who could fit it and enjoy it). My friend has never ridden it yet.

Exactly my reasoning to leave it where it lay. Additionally it was too large even if it was something I wanted to ride. I’m glad it’s not here at home with me.

I will mention however that I have owned one once, a cheap eBay score set up single speed that fit very well. It made a great worry free basic commuter, and offered a decent if not an exciting ride feel.

Seems like I didn't manage to make a picture but I ran into a 1996 Gazelle Expresso ladies bike yesterday night.

Gazelle has a historic database filled with pictures and even scans of accompanying brochures.
It's a one-size fits all aluminum framed bike with a 28 inch rear wheel and a 24 inch front and a 4-speed Shimano nexus hub.

Lovely in its weirdness. :P

Found this elsewhere, but someone somewhere spotted this in the wild. Art bike, probably. I found a paper bike cutout attached to a bike rack by a paper loop chain outside the art building at VCU a few decades ago.

Not C&V, but I was super stoked about this very clean and useful RB1 XO-1clone I spotted near my local brunch spot not long ago. Got to speak with the owner, too. He’s owned a Bridgestone RB-1 XO-1back in the day (regretted parting with it) and was offered this frame in a swap for one he’d hand built.

I think you might mean an XO-1 clone, the Handsome Devil tribute bike they are big fans of Grant. Their limited run sold out quickly iirc

I remember the frames selling slowly and getting down to around $400 before they were gone. a few may have been sold on ebay for less. too bad bc it is cool bike

I think it was about 2010 -I seem to recall seeing that they are thinking about another run I have a 2009 Handsome Devil road frame I built up and its my 1x9 workhorse
