Huffy Independence?

Is this some kind of special model or something? I've never seen one before.

Maybe, but it still looks like the typical Huffy to me. I have seen some of the special olympic models listed with funny olympic parts all over it. This model is neat in a way, 20 dollars would be ok for a funny conversation beater bike in my book.

The seat is what really caught my attention. I did some searching and Huffy did make an Independence model in 1976 but the decals were American flags. What the hell, I'll see if I can get it.

I'm betting it was made in 1976, plenty of companies made bicentennial themed bikes then.

Talk them into $15. It looks pretty sad.

Huffy imported Raleighs, Moultons, and had some bikes made by Serotta.

Sorry but I simply found the bike to be interesting. It had a cheesy 70's seat and it is from the era when I was a child. Of course it's not worth hundreds of dollars and it doesn't carry a name like Motobecane or Pashley. It was simply interesting.

I'll try and post only prestigious and pretentious content in the future.

I voted to go for it...

Anyway, you won't find much love for Huffy on the internet. I can't say I love the brand but I do think the bike you posted was cool for the reasons you did. Another really awesome dept. store bike was simple called "the dude" I think it may have been a free spirit. Now THAT bike was awesome.
