What bike are you looking for this year?

I keep thinking of a long distance bike, touring or randonneur (either/or). I might already have it but won't know for sure until I finish some projects and get some test rides in. But if something definite comes along then I'll definitely give it some good consideration.
In the mean time I'm in a slow purge mode, getting rid of stuff that doesn't fit (like the three 59cm bikes I'm trying to unload) and working my way down to just the keepers and a loaner or two.
Maybe I'll go post something in the swap thread.
What am I looking for? I'll know it when I find it, but for now it is a fairly blank sheet and just some thoughts on a map and an unknown bike to connect the dots with.

I have a dream of finding a mid sixties to seventies racing frame to build up with all the NOS Campy gran sport components I've been collecting. Like a Raleigh Gran Sport.I somehow think it'd be "different" and cool to have a great road racing bike that isn't "top-of-the-line" Campy, but still all campy and with a middle range Reynolds 531 frame. ( It's kinda like what I started on 35 years ago). You know nostalgia for old farts like me.

I am not looking for anything but if a Trek 2300 in a 54 or 56cm turns up at a good price I will
have a hard time turning it down.

I bought more bikes than I should have this year (who hasn't) but aside form the second Proto I wasn't really looking for them. they just caught my eye and seemed a good deal. the only bikes I am really keeping an eye out for is the mid '90 Bianchi Mega Ti witht he big DT in a 59. also I would love to find a '90 Intercept cross bike, Bianchi, it was another MAX tubed bike. I'll try and post pics later

I think I can get down to 2 bikes if I had these:
Single-speed commuter w/ fenders and aero brake levers
Vintage steel with modern drivetrain - already got Campy 8s brifters
Both frames would ideally be 60 cm, stiff, and light - Tange #2 or possibly 531. And something understated with a few nice touches - an upper-end Miyata, Centurion, or Gazelle.
Oh, and some nice double-walled rims to build up the Normandy Competition hubs I've been saving.

I'm sure you have mentioned this many times and that I have read your mention of it, but please remind me what that is?

I would like to order a custom Serotta Colorado upgraded to the s3 fork gloss black with silver decals. I may actually get this.
My problem is I feel I should let a couple of my bikes go. I'll lose money on them, but I haven't had any interest in riding either of my two vintage bikes in the last year... it's a shame... I never get out on leisure cruises anymore.. everything is a training ride. The velodrome is closed so the track bike sits (not that I'd have time to ride it) too.

54cm Yeah, I've got a huge Voyageur and a Supercourse frame that's too big as well I'm going to have to sell. I get caught up in the thrill of the chase and buy these bikes because they're so cheap, but there's not much of a market for them on the local CL. I hate fleabay, but what are you gonna do?

I have a couple projects already in various states of progress, but I'd like to get a Raleigh 20 folder for travelling.

Too bad - there's a 58cm Super Vitus Triathlon on Ebay right now - should be '86 or '87 model. Too big for me.
