Cannondale build question

I just got a '96 Cannondale frame that I'm going to make into a rainy day rider. So I need to build it up as cheap as I can. Jenson has some 105 cranks and a matching BB for crazy cheap. I just need to know if the BB will fit my Cannondale?

Thanks for the help

You need a 109.5 for those cranks. I have the same ones on my rainy day bike.

I am not sure how they make it fit both 68 and 73 mm wide BB shells but it should fit your Cannondale which should 68 shell and 1.37 X 24 threads

Thanks Junk. I think I'll go ahead and get the cranks and hope the BB goes on sale soon. I don't think I'll get anything better for that kind of price.

That is where I got mine. All you need is a 109.5 octalink bb (68mm, english threading) The Dura Ace, Ultegra, 105, and others all used the same length for a double. I found one on ebay for cheaper than $20 and a nice DA one from a forum member in a trade.

I think finding new octalink bbs will start getting hard, in ordering catalogs ive looked through recently only the italian threaded ones remain.
people always sell them used but you really have no idea how many miles are on them and you can't replace the bearings except for the dura ace ones.
you can get the v2 types for next nothing on ebay, but the 105s and ultegra ones you typically have to pay over $50. I picked up a new xtr mountain bike one for 17, the spindle is 112 which is a bummer, but oh well.
