Wow, a 1962 Mercian? Nice. You might consider adding it to the Mercian registry for pre-1970 bikes here: https://genetics.mgh.harvard.edu/hanc..._homepage.html

They aren't great pictures, but its cold and wet outside so inside shots will have to do for now. Better pics when its sunny and I take it on its inaugural ride.

Thanks! Hopefully I will have better pics by this weekend! I took it for a quick spin around the block yesterday and it is such a smooth, buttery ride.

Nice. I never would have gone with red accents on that paint job, but it's perfect. Classy looking build.

Yeah, it turned out a little 'christmas' looking, but I like it. This bike is like christmas in March for me!

Just gorgeous. Not all that Christmasy looking though. Just classic and classy!

THIS is a Christmas Mercian:

Wow, what a paintjob! And the perfect amount of chrome too. And that awesome bottom bracket shell...

Actually I think it's a bit much. Gorgeous but a bit over the top. Mercian was building that for somebody right before Christmas last year and posted it on their blog. I reckon it was custom for the big man himself!

I think Kirke's is just about perfect in every way. I like everything about it. Including the centerpulls. Sweet!

Ok, I went for a nice prolly 8 mile ride today and on the Mercian and it feels great. I think the fat 30mm Challenge tires have a lot to do with it, but the frame itself has always ridden fantastic. Only problem is that the Weinmann centerpulls are screeeching really badly. Any tips on that?
I took some better, er less blurry pictures outside today:
