Shimano toeclips???
Last night as I was riding home from class, my plastic shimano toeclip broke when I tried slipping my foot in. So now I'm looking to get a new pair of toeclips, but I'm hesitant to get plastic ones again. I've been searching for steel toeclips but they're impossible to find online!
I could only find some such like these. https://www.jensonusa.com/store/produ...Toe+Clips.aspx
Any help, please?

You need the Shimano platform toeclips, as pictured in your link. The steel version (Dura Ace) is no longer available. You can try ebay if a pair is being offered. But the only new replacements are these plastic ones....usually $9-12 per pair.

Thanks WNG, I'll probably end up getting the plastic ones. The links everyone else have posted on this thread are for clips that don't seem compatible with PD A550 pedals. Too bad they don't make steel ones anymore.

One thing you might want to do is look for used 6207 or 7200 pedals with cages. These came with medal cages

Yeah, the cages are originally plastic with these pedals, I'm just bitter at the plastic for breaking so easily, so I want steel ones. If I am ever able to find any, I'm sure they'll fit the pedal just fine. Could I be wrong?

I have a set of Shimano 600 pedals, and they look very similar to the Dura Ace pedals, and have metal cages as well. But my very similar Shimano 105 pedals have plastic cages.
You can find vintage 600 pedals on ebay, they are not too expensive, but not cheap either and you will probably be bidding against me (I like the 600 pedals).

I might have a used set available for you. Toe clip & clampy thing. Used, but good shape. Just over in Costa Mesa from you. PM me for more info.
Have a set of Shimano 600 pedals to be more specific. Cleaned them up last weekend, work fine.

If you have a lot of time on your hands, camp out in front of the grinder and drill press, and make yourself a set from some extra large (LL) MKS clips.
I didn't feel like spending $60 for some steel Campagnolo aero clips a few months back, so I just spent a couple hours making a set. Worked out fine.

The steel version were for the Shimano 60 pedals. The aluminum version was for DuraAce. I'd be surprised if any of these are made new by Shimano, but I do see them both on Ebay from time to time.

Interesting, my Dura Ace set came as pictured in EjustE's pic, with steel clips not aluminum. My brother has a set with chromed steel cage plates, instead of the black aluminum...but the clips were steel too. I would have liked the aluminum clips instead, but I love these pedals as is.

I've fabricated replacement clamp plates out of aluminum plate. It's not hard to do. They don't look as nice as the originals, but they work fine.

I bought a set of the 105 pedals with steel clips off eBay for about $25 last month, after shipping. I didn't even care if the clips were plastic or steel (just that they were there). They just happened to be steel.
Just keep your eyes open for it, another set will come along for much less than the one above.

I could be wrong about the aluminum ones, but no doubt, 1984 600 6207s were chromed steel.

I have a set of these (as pictured) in excellent condition, never mounted on a bike. Also a pair of new cleats for shoes to match. I could be convinced to part with them as the project that they were purchased for didn't get off the ground. PM me if interested.
