Rear Rack Recommendation retro Raleigh
I would like to put a rear rack on my old Raleigh. A spare rack I have won't fit with the fenders. Does anyone have any suggestions on a good rear rack for a retro Raleigh. As always something that keeps vintage look would be preferred but is not necessary as this is a poverty rider.
Also, any thoughts on a front rack?

If possible, use the bracket that attaches to the brake bolt to keep the rack from slipping down. Also use some bits from an old inner tube to protect the paint on the seat stays.
Beware that some panniers are designed to hook to an arm on a rack, and the Pletscher doesn't have anywhere for the hook to go.

I use the up to date Sunlight Multi-fit rack https://www.nashbar.com/bikes/Product...7_10000_200411 on my vintage bikes; in silver, its styling seems to fit vintage bikes nicely and I find it very sturdy & functional.

One of my favourite racks is the one that was fitted to older Peugeots and normally came with tie down straps... fitted this one to a newer Peugeot today.
It is light, strong, and elegant and will accept my modern panniers that have a hook and locking clip system.
I like the modified Wald rack a great deal and the Pletscher rack is great for sling bags.

Why can’t I find a simple traditional rear rack of pleasing proportions for Raleigh-type 26-inch wheel bikes? These may be the most popular utility bikes in the history of the western world. Utility equals rack.
To head off some suggestions, I find the Pletscher and Sunlite racks ungainly-looking. Prestubes are hard to find color-matched and cost a lot when found in decent shape. (I wouldn’t come to this group with a question if I hadn’t searched hard for a solution on my own. Most of the photos online are of Raleigh 10-speeds, and 3-speeds have their dropout eyelets in a different location.)
The "butchered" Wald 215 rack above is appealing and tempting to emulate. However, that's a 10-speed frame with the rear dropout eyelet on top rather behind the axle. Hard to tell if it would look as good set back further.

It's kind of funny how rosy the past looks in retrospect. A "traditional" rack almost certainly would have been a Pletscher or a Raleigh presstube rack. There weren't a whole lot of options BITD.
Personally, I find the SOMA rack hideous. Trying way too hard.
