Bad luck X 2

So frustrating. Got home today and was hoping to get some work done on a couple of project bikes.

First- Bridgestone 300 Mixte- Slight bend on the downtube, Very minor but still sucks.

Second- Peugeot PGN10- Thing is trashed, Frame looks okay with some minor dents but the fork is trashed.

Hi guy_zach...
I haven't had those issues exactly, but I can't tell you the number of annoying little surprises I've encountered when attempting to fix up some old road bikes to flip -- half the time I end up buying a new crank, derailleur or wheel to get it right, and that pretty well takes away my meager profit after replacing the usual tires-tubes-cables-hsgs-chain-tape and saddle.

It's a shame though that the defects you encountered can't be resolved with a small investment on ebay. I just hope you did not pay much to begin with and hopefully there are some nice components for a future build or to sell.

I try to minimize my damage by making offers on project bikes based on components and parts alone. Sometimes this means I do not get the bike. That's OK. But it has also saved me several times on frames I could not save.

I still have gotten burned a few times. So it has not been foolproof.

The guy I got the Bridgestone from offered to take it back in trade for a different mixte. But I think the PGN10 is a lost cause. I purchased it with a small dent on the frame but did not get to test ride it so I never noticed the fork. I will email the seller today and see if there is anything he can do.
