Nishiki Mixte - Done for Now

Well here she is. I decided to hold off putting the fenders on, when I found out the order hadn't been processed yet, and ride her for awhile and decide on fenders later. I'm sticking with the original paint for now but still not totally ruling out getting her powdercoated in the future.
I'm super happy with her. She rides like a dream! The basket is a Wald basket that we added wooden slats to, stained to match the seat and grips.

Before $20 CL with two front wheels

After

Pretty similar to the Centurion mixte I picked up off Craigs List myself last year. I just got a frameset with a couple of other parts, no wheels. Same price tho, $20.

I went ahead and completed it as a 12 speed rider, with 700c wheels.

Nice bike. I have given my two daughters each a mixte. I love that style of frame. I saved mine from the recycle bin and
now they have a lot more years to be ridden and enjoyed.

I don't think I've noticed a set of center stays that don't kiss the seat tube before.

To the OP, that Nishiki is beautiful. IMHO, don't paint it. IMHO it won't look any better and will cost you $$. If it were mine, I'd put the money elsewhere.

+1 Don't repaint. It's a nice color with original decals. A bike is only original once. A quality repaint is expensive and just lowers the value of the bike.
