Sugino LP and AT Triples / BB Differences!

Hi... In the process of converting from a double to a triple (Trek 613) and in the recent past I used a Sugino LP triple with a Cup & Cone BB 3SS (121.5mm, 37.5mm Rt., 32mm Lft.) This combination worked perfect on the driveline. Plenty of room for the granny. This time I purchased a used Sugino AT thinking this would work with the same bike and bottom bracket.
No way! needs a much longer spindle. I thought the AT and the LP were basically the same.
The AT looks like it needs at least a 3RR spindle, 124.5mm with drive side of 40.5mm This still, would only give me about 3mm clearance om the drive side. I would like about 6-8mm clearance for the granny.
I am considering entering the 21st century and purchasing a sealed BB but am not sure about the fact that most are symmetrical and not asymmetrical like the older cup & cone BB.
I think you have to also consider using a spacer to achieve the proper driveline offset?
I know this has been discussed before. Any suggestions on a sealed BB for a Trek 613 and the Sugino AT. My other option is to sell the AT and look for another used Sugino LP triple. I looked at the Sheldon Brown recommendations and I can't seem to find a 127.5mm asymmetrical spindle. Help!

Thanks, Bill
