what type of bike is this?
can anyone tell me what type of bike this might be? while posting this i realized this is a horrible picture. if there is a specific picture that would help let me know. there is a serial number on the bottom of the bottom bracket and the fork says Ishiwata. i think that is just who made the steel though not the bike manufacturer? thanks in advance for any help

thanks for the help. it was red but i stripped most of the paint off. i'm going to finish stripping the paint and repaint it. thinking about trying to outfit it with some 650b's and decent tires for a commuter? dont really need another road bike and i have my fixed gear conversion already so i'm not sure what to do with this one

I have seen a GT with the same seat stay setup. I wonder if GT and Shogun shared the frame design, or one supplied the other with frames.
Interesting if one can find out if there is a marked increase in stiffness for the rear triangle. I do not remember if the seatstays on this frame also attaches to the seat tube, but the additiona triangulation might make it stiffer, although it does go against the usual thought of shorter seat and chainstays = stiffer rear triangle.
Weeinies might equate the desin to a heavier frame too......but it does look very cool!
