Here's a story of how a small stable began...
Last year a new co-worker came to work and my jobsite, and one day he arrives with a nice looking bike in the office. DSCN0065..jpg We start talking bikes and I discover that this is his "winter bike" - his real bike is a LandShark, which shows up a few weeks later. We trade stories (mine mostly very old). Turns out his winter project is to design and order his newest LandShark Mendo K-8 20100408_924..jpg, and mine was to restore my old Condor. He was happy to share some old Campy to help my project along, and later the Paramount showed up in my office with a price tag on it.Paramount 1 s.jpg. This week, the Italvega showed up too at a very reasonable price.

He has an unbelievable bike, and a "new" winter bike, but somehow I feel very lucky.

Nice start! Have you begun plans for the storage space to handle a large stable.

The Stable is full of kids bikes for now...plus my clunker (temporary donor bike for the paramount) so my stable will stay small for now. The Paramount is a very sweet ride especially with the 700x35 touring tires.101_1011..jpg and a pretty one at that101_1017..jpg. This one will be my next project, as there is a bit of rust to tackle and I'll need some help with cleaning up the paint and the decals which look pretty rough right now. I'm keeping the Italvega at work for now DSCN0064..jpgand sneaking out for a quick spin at lunchtime.

I'm having fun.

The advice I got on the valuation thread was to stay under $200-250, which I was able to do. He was tickled to get them to a good home and saved the hastle of trying to sell them on line, thus the title.
